It's more good news for Volvo! Sharon Silke Carty's November 18th Yahoo Autos article names the Volvo XC90 the 2016 Yahoo Auto's "Ride of the Year." No doubt the star of the show here, the XC90's 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is exceptional. For one, it's both super- and turbocharged, something rarely seen in this class. For another, it's supremely sporty, with overall output ringing in at a robust 316 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.

Wouldn't it be nice if child seats were easier to use, and safer, too? Volvo was just thinking the same thing.

Children's spines are not fully ossified until they reach around eight years of age, but are particularly cartilaginous before the age of two. This makes toddlers highly susceptible to injury during a crash-- complicated, too, by their proportionally larger heads.
