Once again, Volvo has taken a great thing and made it even better. Not content to sit on their laurels, Volvo has upgraded the interior and added an innovative braking system that increases fuel economy and decreases emissions in the 2020 Volvo XC90 SUV.

New Interior Options

The 2020 Volvo XC90 sees its biggest model year change in the available interior configuration, which now includes a six-seat option. The six available seats include bucket seats in the front, middle, and third rows, including ample space between the middle seats and plenty of shoulder and elbow in the back. The six-seat choice is an excellent option for those who carpool to work as well as those with families whose kids might need a little extra space for their—or your—sake.

The six-seat configuration is one of two possible seating layouts for the 2020 Volvo XC90, which also includes arrangements for seven passengers. Last year's option of four seats is no longer available.

Driving Towards Sustainability

In addition to the plug-in hybrid powertrain option, Volvo's commitment to sustainability is advanced this year with the addition of a new braking system. The new kinetic energy recovery system transfers energy from the brakes back to the engine, thereby reducing fuel consumption by as much as 15%.

Yet another significant feature makes the 2020 Volvo XC90 more eco-friendly is the newest seating material. The available Tailored Wool Blend upholstery is a lush material that is made from 70% recycled polyester that makes your ride both luxurious and more sustainable.
